
Community Diagnostic Centre at JPUH
The new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at the James Paget University Hospital houses the very latest diagnostic equipment, including new MRI and
CT scanners, ultrasound imaging equipment and an X-ray room to diagnose and monitor a range of conditions including cancer, heart disease, respiratory diseases, trauma, musculoskeletal diseases and neurological conditions.
The CDC is a steel framed building sitting on pad foundations. The external façade comprises facing brickwork, composite cladding and aluminium curtain
walling. There is a flat felt roof throughout and a fully bunded first floor plant room. Rooms containing specialist medical equipment are lead-lined for radiation protection purposes Hygienic finishes include PVC wrapped doors and IPS panelling throughout.
The roof accommodates PV panels, an air chiller, air source heat pumps, air-handling units and a quench pipe to release emergency cooling gases from the MRI scanner.
