We have recently fabricated and installed four sample windows for the well known ‘Ziggurats’ at the University of East Anglia.
The Kawneer AA3110 sliding window system and Solar control glazing was designed to replicate the original timber windows used in this student accommodation, which was designed by Denys Lasdun and completed in 1968.
Now Grade II listed, these pyramid-shaped building whose correct names are the Norfolk and Suffolk Terraces, are one of the best known sites at the campus. Due to their important historic nature, the team worked sensitively and in collaboration with LSI Architects and Aspect Group Services Ltd. to ensure the facility was carefully preserved as the windows were installed, and also to help improve thermal efficiency to the student flats.
