Rewinding back to 2012, when we were in Southend-on-Sea to install Kawneer AA100 Curtain Wall zone drained, 190 Main Entrance Doors and means of escape doors, AA601 Casement (all fixed light) on the Cultural Centre, which is sited at the head of Southend Pier, the world’s longest pleasure pier.
Due to the challenging conditions of the site, main contractors Kier, fabricated the building off site at Tilbury Docks and craned it into place in one piece with durable materials specified throughout to help achieve a long lifespan.
It was a memorable project for our installers and any visitors as they either had the choice of walking 1.3m to site or to get the 7:30am train each day.
