Priscilla Bacon Lodge

Drayton Windows had the privilege of being involved in the delivery of the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge, where we designed, fabricated and installed the Curtain Walling screens, and Kawneer AA720 windows and doors.

This new hospice provides 24 in-patient beds, a day unit, a wellbeing centre and physio gym, and will also act as a hub for community based services, enabling people to receive care in their own homes.

His Majesty King Charles III officially opened the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge on Thursday 26th October 2023, unveiling a plaque to commemorate the occasion and signing a book of supporters.

Our installation team also had the honour of fitting the prestigious stained-glass window into the hospice’s Chapel. This unique and stunning creation was designed by sculptor John Maine, each segment manufactured in Germany by Derix Glasstudios.

The Bacon Chapel overlooks and leads onto a central courtyard, enjoying views over the wider landscape that everyone can enjoy within the grounds of this tranquil hospice. Inside the Chapel, this bold glass art boasts ‘colours of heaven’. When the natural light passes through the different shards of glass, the reflection creates spectacular patterns and colours on the adjacent walls creating a calming feel within this ecclesiastical space.
